Homelessness

This past Sunday, November 22 was National Housing Day, a day to recognize the people and organizations across Canada who are making efforts to improve access to housing for every person.

In honour of National Housing Day, Indwell rolled out ots first ever Hope@Home Sunday for churches. One of the tools we developed is a set of resources to encourage and equip everyone for mobilizing against homelessness and effecting progress, including our staff’s favourite books, websites, podcasts, and documentaries. We think you’ll enjoy them, too.

This list continues to grow, so let us know if you know of any other useful resources—we may be able to include them!

Thank you for joining us in addressing homelessness with the permanent solution: permanent homes.

Community Engagement Coordinator, Indwell

P.S. Several churches took the opportunity this past Sunday to learn about homelessness, poverty and the importance of homes, using a Hope@Home Sunday package prepared by Indwell staff and partners. We heard from some people that they would like to do this with their congregation on a later date. If you would like to host one of these events at your church, please visit indwell.ca/national-housing-day.
