Local Initiatives
A decade of concern, discussion and planning has culminated in the creation of several housing and shelter projects in Hamilton intended to alleviate the growing need of permanent and short term housing. To alleviate this persistent need for affordable housing and shelters required changes in city bylaws, financial commitment from all levels of government and persistent pressure and commitment by service agencies such as Indwell, Good Shepherd, Mission Services and others.
